By: Richard O'Malley – Wednesday, June 8th, 2011
June 9th begins the first round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic, as the PGA Tour will head to the TPC at Southwind in Memphis Tennessee. The FedEx St. Jude Classic is the last stop before the US Open takes place. The TPC Southwind features 94 sand bunkers, 10 water hazards, and was ranked 11 (out of 52) in difficulty on the PGA Tour in 2010. Lee Westwood won last years event after Robert Garrigus lost a three-stroke lead on the final hole to force a 3-man playoff. I have 5 head to head picks for the [...] (Read More)
Super Bowl - XLV - Prop Bet #2
By: Jeff Goldstein – Saturday, February 5th, 2011
The Super Bowl is tomorrow and it seems like every year there are more and more crazy weird props. I mean is it really necessary to take Steelers 1st downs gained over Penguins shots on goal? No absolutlely not. I don't know how they come up with these hundreds of different lines but within these seemingly pointless props their are some solid winners and even a couple of "locks". A "lock" is tough to come by but it seems one has appeared. Green Bay Packers players with [...] (Read More)
Super Bowl - XLV - Prop Bet #1
By: Richard O'Malley – Thursday, February 3rd, 2011
Not only does the Super Bowl bring in a lot of action on both the side and the total for the game but it also accounts for endless amounts of prop options. In many cases wagering on the right props is just as time consuming as deciding on the winner and or total for the game itself. Now a days it seems that books are offering Super Bowl props on just about anything and everything a person may want to wager on; from player and team props to whether Christina Aguilera will wear a head set or use a microphone while singing the National Anthem. Which F.Y.I. if your book is offering [...] (Read More)
Liverpool @ Blackpool - Preview + Pick
By: Richard O'Malley – Wednesday, January 12th, 2011
Today's game is a re-arranged game after the original Boxing Day match was postponed due to weather. The last time these two teams met was on October 3rd 2010 in front of 43,000+ at Anfield. The game did not start off well for Liverpool as they lost their striker Fernando Torres in the 10th minute to a groin injury. The scoring opened in the 29th minute with a Charlie Adam penalty kick goal that was then followed by a Luke Varney perfectly-timed run and finish in the 45th minute. Liverpool was able to get one back on a Sotirios Kyrgiakos header in the [...] (Read More)
2011 Cotton Bowl - Texas A&M vs LSU
By: Richard O'Malley – Friday, January 7th, 2011
Tonight's Cotton Bowl matchup featuring #17 Texas A&M vs #10 LSU should end up being one of the better bowl games to watch during this bowl season. Texas A&M comes into tonights game with a 9-3 overall record and 8-4 ATS with 6 overs and 6 unders to their credit. Among Texas A&M's notable victories are a home win against Nebraska and a home win against eventual Big 12 champions Oklahoma. The LSU Tigers of the SEC come into tonights game with a 10-2 overall record but an underachieving 5-7 ATS with 4 overs and 8 unders. LSU's only [...] (Read More)
UEFA Champions League - Round of 16 Draw + Mini Previews
By: Richard O'Malley – Thursday, December 30th, 2010
In my opinion there is not a better soccer tournament than the UEFA Champions League. Earlier in life I would have said that the World Cup is a much better tournament but as good as the World Cup is to watch the UEFA Champions League to me at least is even better. This years round of 16 drawing has lead to some very interesting match-ups. Some of these match-ups were seen in last years competition and some of these match-ups have been seen in past competitions but all of them should end up being very exciting match-ups to watch. The first leg [...] (Read More)
